Cyprus holidays 'ideal' for an overseas wedding

Couples mulling over the option of getting married abroad have been encouraged to consider a Cyprus holiday.

Foreign exchange firm Caxton FX teamed up with wedding consultant Lisa Burton to come up with some of the best destinations for a memorable nuptial ceremony.

The company described Cyprus as a "firm favourite" for couples who want to tie the knot abroad.

Newlyweds can book a Cyprus villa along the island's scenic west coast and stay there for their honeymoon.

Ms Burton suggested: "Go for a luxury wedding at one of the stunning beachfront resorts, or for a more intimate setting, there are beautiful local tavernas and hidden villas offering a traditional paradise in natural surroundings."

The wedding consultant and Caxton FX also recommended Turkey, saying that the country is "bursting with history and culture".

All sorts of ceremonies are available in Turkey, according to the company, from a quiet gathering on a secluded beach to a party in one of the country's scenic mountain villages.
