Costa Blanca 'offers good value holidays'
Families planning to rent out Spanish holiday villas and enjoy a break in the country this summer may want to take one expert's advice on keeping costs down.
In an article for the Daily Telegraph, travel writer Fred Mawer described how Spain saw a resurgence in popularity among British travellers last year.
He suggested this may have been down to political turmoil in north African destinations sending travellers back to the country.
Meanwhile, the fact that day-to-day costs for holidaymakers proved lower in the nation than other parts of Europe may also have influenced tourism.
Those considering renting a villa in Spain in 2012 were advised the Costa Blanca is one of the cheaper areas, while the Costa Brava in the most expensive.
The city of Elche on the Costa Blanca may be one place tourists want to visit, as it was declared the palm tree capital of the world in 2001.
