Vilamoura holidays 'have much to offer'
Britons considering an Algarve holiday might want to head to Vilamoura.
According to Lynn Gilmartin of PokerNews, the resort has plenty to offer holiday makers, including good golf facilities and the chance to see some of the most glamorous yachts in the world at the 1,000-berth Marina de Vilamoura.
The waterfront is also home to a profusion of luxury bars and cafes, while two nearby beaches are ideal for sunbathing and water sports.
Ms Gilmartin additionally recommends tasting the local cuisine, particularly the seafood. One key dish to try is bacalhau.
"It's a dried salt-cod, apparently with over 300 different ways of cooking it and if you love pastries for dessert like I do, then Portugal is the place to be," she remarks.
Other attractions for those on Vilamoura villa holidays include the local casino, various traditional markets and the opportunity to make excursions to locations such as Faro, the regional capital of the Algarve.
It is also possible to see the main sights of Vilamoura on a tourist train that travels around the resort.
