Have a picture-perfect Algarve holiday
Holiday makers who love getaways to particularly scenic destinations may want to consider looking into Algarve villas.
Writing for the Ottawa Citizen, photographer Judy Slack said she had to literally pinch herself on a recent holiday to the region because of the sheer beauty of the scenery that she saw on coastal walks there.
One particular trek "was like walking through a series of postcards", she remarked, praising the "postage-sized beaches, majestic walls of eroding gold-and-cinnamon layered limestone, grottos, caves and other rock formations".
Other highlights of the Algarve holiday included visits to historic towns with picturesque cobbled alleys, markets offering a range of fresh produce and the local cuisine, especially piri-piri chicken and grilled fish, Ms Slack commented.
One of the most famous dishes in the region is ameijoas na cataplana, which consists of clams cooked in an Arabic copper pan that is well able to preserve the flavours and aromas of the food.
Villas in the Algarve region can be found in coastal locations such as Praia de Luz, Carvoeiro, Albufeira and Quinta do Lago.
