Algarve villa guests to be offered more events
People planning Algarve villa holidays this year will be offered a wider range of events as part of an annual cultural programme in the region.
The organisers of the Allgarve 2010 initiative recently revealed that the scheme will run for a longer period of time this year and will feature a more extensive offering for visitors.
One of the aims of the project is to create a new brand to attract more people to the Portuguese region in 2010, the Algarve Resident reported.
Holiday makers on Algarve villa breaks will be able to attend events separated into five main areas - music, art, street entertainment, gastronomy and sport.
Regional tourism chief Nuno Aires said recently that details of the different events will be released shortly before they are due to take place, in a strategy designed to allow the tourist board to "continue working on a dynamic programme".
Previous editions of the Allgarve season have included performances by the likes of Joss Stone and Seal, as well as sporting events including an F1 Powerboat World Championship race.
