Visit Italy's 'verdant heart' on an Umbria holiday
According to Hello Magazine, Umbria attracts a celebrity following and its abundantly green countryside is the biggest attraction to those who travel there.
The publication said if you're "up for an outdoors adventure, lashings of history and reckon yourself a bit of a foodie and a connoisseur of fine wines", then an Umbria holiday may be for you this summer.
It adds, Umbria is famous throughout Italy for its food - including black and white truffles, wild boar sausages and boutique olive oils.
Those looking for an ideal base to explore the region may like to rent a villa in Castel Rigone, which is a pretty little medieval village that is ideally suited for exploring northern Umbria in particular.
It boasts numerous shops, bars and restaurants, so there are also plenty of things to do when the sun goes down.
