See the works of Alberto Burri on an Umbria holiday
The Galleria Nazionale dell'Umbria will be showcasing his paintings until July 26th - and a visit could offer the ideal day trip out for Umbria holiday makers renting a villa in the region.
Burri's initial period as a figurative painter was "very short and ended in 1947 when he began experimenting painting on sacks, pieces of wood and iron and ultimately plastic, always with a great sense for space and colour", according to The Italian State Tourist Board.
Fans may love this new exhibition, while those new to Burri may also delight in seeing his experimental approach to art.
This is just another example of the wide range of events holiday makers can visit on their Umbria villa vacation - while those who think good food is art may take great enjoyment from sampling the region's mouth-watering local produce, which is highly revered across Italy.
