Literary lovers gather in Umbria

For the last 14 years the regional capital of Umbria has hosted the Umbria Libri, a celebration of the art that is the book.

According to organisers, hot debates are guaranteed, as well as musical aperitifs and literary desserts.

Running from November 5th to November 9th, the festival could act as a great day out for holiday makers staying in the delightful Umbrian town of Marsciano.

If the literary debates get a little too hot, guests can retreat back to their villa and cool down at the town's popular ice cream parlour, which attracts visitors from all over Europe with its freshly-made varieties.

There is also plenty to do in Perugia for families and a visit to the Citta della Domenica amusement park could be just the ticket.

Over almost 40 acres, guests will find a range of animals suited to the Italian climate, including lions, buffalos and zebra, according to Perugia Online.
