'Peace, parks and picnics' on an Umbria villa holiday

According to About.com, the medieval hill town of Orvieto is a "delightful" place to visit and those who like walking holidays and a picnic in peaceful green surroundings could be right at home.

"This small town is home to one of Italy's finest cathedrals, sometimes called the Golden Lily of Cathedrals," the site adds.

A villa holiday in Orvieto could be just the ticket for those who like to unwind and it rests 350 metres above the plentiful valleys that can be found below.

The more adventurous can also hop into their rental car and visit Rome and Florence, although one of the most ancient cities in Italy may have enough charm to keep you in its grasp the whole time.
