'History in abundance' in Todi

Between April 10th and April 19th, the long-running Todi antiques fair takes place right in the centre of the town's medieval centre, according to Perugia Online.

Legend has it that Todi was build by Hercules and the town is beautifully perched high above the Tiber valley.

Already filled with culture and history, the antiques fair could give holiday makers the opportunity to learn about the town's more modern history and its inhabitants - while they could even bag a bargain to take back to Blighty.

The fair takes place in the Palazzo Landi Corradi, while the sloping Piazza del Pololo is frequently described as one of the most perfect and beautiful medieval square in the whole of Italy.

Todi is also perfectly placed for holiday makers who like to explore - with Porchiano, San Vernanzo and Montecastello di Vibio, all close by.
