Winery doors open to visitors on a Tuscany villa holiday
During May wineries throughout the region give holiday makers a reason to leave their Tuscany villa and learn about wine.
Usually taking place on a Sunday at the end of May, the Cantine Aperte festival is an annual initiative to tempt locals and holiday makers to the wineries of Tuscany.
Doors and cellars are opened to the locals and visitors and wineries offer free tastings and tours as well as some local delicacies to clear the palate.
The events take place all over Tuscany so holiday makers will have plenty of chances to leave their private pool and enjoy some of Italy's finest produce on their Tuscany holiday.
Tuscany is also home to the famous Chianti wine region and holiday makers can expect to sample some of the famous tipple as well as many others known on a local or a national scale.
