Villa La Pietra work 'nearly complete' for a Tuscany holiday

The Florence Villa La Pietra, a Renaissance garden, aged around 100 years, has been lovingly restored following "years of neglect", according to the Telegraph - something that may be of interest to those on a Tuscany holiday.

Work is now close to completion under the green fingers of English head gardener Nick Dakin-Elliot and has been undertaken using photographic evidence depicting the eight acres of formal garden.

"Our aim has been to preserve the slightly quirky feel of the garden," said Mr Dakin-Elliot.

He said the garden was also reflective of the popularity of the area with expats and said the team wanted the garden to continue to reflect this.

Florence has a wealth of other heritage, cultural and religious sites to visit too, all which could make for the perfect Tuscany holiday.
