Tuscany villas gateway to "spectacular" scenery
Writing in the Sun, David Murray reveals how a holiday in the Tuscan village of Tredozio introduced him to the simple life of a beautiful region.
The Tuscany villa holiday gave Mr Murray and his family the opportunity to wind down, exploring the surrounding area during the day, swimming in the pool and eating at the villa during the evening.
"But, as with all villa holidays, keeping young children amused meant heading farther afield," he wrote.
With this in mind, the writer headed on a day trip to Florence, where the city's famed artistic attractions entertained the whole family.
He noted that Faenza and Bologna could also be ideal day trips for families looking to combine their Tuscany villa with a spot of culture.
Mr Murray's advice follows that of the Telegraph's Tim Jepson, who broke his own rule by visiting Tuscany in August and reportedly enjoyed the experience thoroughly.
