Tuscany topiary brings the Beatles to life
Artists from Tuscany have completed life-size topiary figures immortalising the Beatles.
Due to take centre stage at South Parkway in Liverpool, the topiary manifestations took a year and half to cultivate.
As well as its Mediterranean climate and artistic heritage, Tuscany is famed for some of the world's finest topiary.
The ostentatious estates of the Villa Gamberaia, Villa Castello and Villa Petraia are just three of the finest remaining examples of Renaissance garden design, recommended to all visitors taking a Tuscany holiday.
Fringed by landscaped woodlands and replete with elaborate fresoes, chapels, grottos and terraces, the Tuscany villas are oases of calm decorated with some of the world's best topiary art.
Steve Nicholson, director of the Bigger Plant Company, the specialist firm responsible for the commission of the Beatles topiary, said: "We have a long-established relationship with Tuscany, whose artists are the best in the world."
Situated to the north of Italy's west coast, Tuscany is home to a number of the country's most celebrated cities, including Florence, Pisa, Siena and Arezzo.
