Tuscany museum helps the visually impaired 'appreciate beauty'
According to the Florentine, the museum is one of the first in Italy to organise a tour of this nature to help the visually impaired on a Tuscany villa holiday.
By using catalogues and placards found around the museum, guests can touch reproductions of "centuries-old artefacts and artworks conserved in the museum".
In doing so, visitors can learn about their history and appreciate their beauty.
The news provider claims that works that have been recreated include bronze "bas-reliefs from ancient Rome", as well as a wealth of pieces from ancient Greece and Egypt.
Museum director Carlotta Cianferoni said: "It is still a long road before the entire museum can be fully used by all kinds of people, but we are intent on continuing on this road; this initiative is the first of many to come."
