Tuscany is a 'wonderful wine destination'

According to research carried out by TripAdvisor, Tuscany is the perfect holiday destination for British wine lovers, particularly those who are "keen on Chianti".

Described as a "delight for the senses", Tuscany was ranked alongside the likes of Bordeaux and California's Napa Valley.

"Celebrated not only for its vineyards and its cuisine, its sheer natural and historic beauty make it one of the world's most sought-after destinations and a magical place to taste the local vino," TripAdvisor noted.

Other areas making the top ten include La Rioja in Spain, Valle Central in Chile and Marlborough, New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Britons enjoying a villa holiday in Tuscany will have the opportunity to sample some of the region's produce at the annual Grape Festival, which takes place on September 28th in Impruneta.
