Tuscany holidays 'remain popular'

Helen Warburton of Post Office travel services said that sales of foreign currency were "up across the board", with Britons keen to escape the doom and gloom at home.

"September sales have been among the most buoyant this year, showing no sign of the downturn that might have been expected as a result of the credit crunch," she commented.

Meanwhile, those travelling to Tuscany over the coming months will find no shortage of activities to keep them occupied.

Events taking place in the region during September and October include the Impruneta Grape Festival, Florence Creativity Festival and Tuscany Autumn Festival, which kicks off on October 11th in the medieval town of Abbadia San Salvatore.
