Tuscany holidays 'offer more than a sightseeing checklist'
Tribune Media Services observes that the town is "itself the sight", blending glorious architecture with authentic Italian charm.
And although people on Tuscany villa holidays may be tempted to visit Siena on a day trip, the report maintains that the location does not truly thrive until the night.
"While Florence has the blockbuster museums, Siena has an easy-to-enjoy soul: courtyards sport flower-decked wells and alleys dead-end at red-tiled rooftop views," the article states.
As the first European metropolis to ban car traffic from its historic main square, the sense of peace and heritage in Siena can be enjoyed free of distractions.
Highlights are said to include the Fountain of Joy and the city hall.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail recently reported that filming for the new James Bond film had reached Siena, where Daniel Craig was spotted in action as the British hero.
