Tuscany holidays 'great for a girly getaway'
Florence - a popular day trip for people staying in Tuscany villas - could be the ideal way to bond with pals while taking in some first-rate cultural treats, suggests MSNBC.
The publication reports that the city "has it all", combining some of the world's most iconic pieces of art and architecture with fine food and inspiring views.
"Start with the requisite cup of creamy, delicious gelato - after all, no girly getaway is complete without sweets," the article advises.
A cup of chocolate-hazelnut gelato at Carozza, near the Ponte Vecchio, can reportedly be enjoyed while taking in views of the Tuscan countryside and the Arno River.
For a Tuscany holiday that blends the best of the countryside with easy access to Florence, a villa in the traditional village of Ghizzano may be appropriate.
