Tuscany holidays 'good for families'

Couples expecting their first baby would do well to consider popular Italian destinations such as Tuscany, the Independent advises.

Responding to a request for advice from a couple expecting their first baby this month, the publication asserts that the proximity and baby-friendly nature of Italy makes it a "good first choice for a family holiday".

"Italians are truly family-focused and welcome children with practised ease," the newspaper points out.

August is the hottest month in Italy, the news provider points out, so anyone booking a stay in a Tuscany villa during the month is advised to pack a mosquito net or fan.

Meanwhile, an itinerary of places to visit while staying in a Tuscany villa could include Florence, which boasts a number of famous museums, including the Uffizi Gallery.
