Tuscany holidays get mythical

In news that may be of interest to anyone planning a Tuscany villa stay, reports of a unicorn at the Centre for Natural Sciences in Prato were described as "fantasy becoming reality" by the organisation's director.

The one-year-old roe deer was born in the research centre, which is based in an area near the popular Tuscany holiday day-trip destination of Florence.

However, director Gilberto Tozzi said that the unusual animal appeared to be shy.

"Our deer may be aware that he is different as he doesn't allow himself to be seen very easily," he commented.

Animal fans planning Tuscany holidays may also be interested in the Palio horse race, which takes place in July 2nd and August 16th of each year in Siena.
