Tuscany holidays 'are heaven for foodies'
Simon Callow has recommended a trip to Florence for Tuscany holiday makers, noting the city's numerous attractions for people who love to taste regional culinary specialities when abroad.
The actor told the Telegraph that Florence is his favourite tourism destination, in part due to its food, adding that a variety of budgets and tastes are catered for in the city.
"It has some wonderfully posh places, such as Harry's Bar, but you can also eat fantastically well for very little," he said.
Callow also praised Florence for its artistic wealth and other cultural attractions.
People visiting the city while staying in a Tuscany villa may wish to build into their itinerary a visit to famous gallery the Uffizi, as well as the museum of San Marco and the Bargello Tower.
Famous monuments such as the Baptistry, the Cathedral and the Palazzo Vecchio may also be of interest to culture vultures looking for some stimulation between meals.
