UK property buyers are looking to Italy as an attractive option, according to the Independent.
In particular the areas of Tuscany and Umbria are coming under close consideration for savvy buyers who want to get away from the UK and find the sun.
Property values in Tuscany are slightly higher than those in Umbria due to the fact that Tuscany has a beautiful coastline with a number of famous towns along it including Florence, Pisa and Siena.
The report follows an announcement by Rupert Fawcett of Knight Frank, that many parts of Italy are holding up well against the downturn in the global finance market.
The Independent noted on the region of Umbria that: "Among the piazzas and palazzos of Umbria's historic and beautiful capital, Perugia, you'll find all manner of cultural and artistic treasures."
According to the Times, Tuscany offers many attractions including cycling tours through the scenic surroundings, to beautiful country villas and towns.
