Trek an ancient route on a Tuscany holiday
The ancient route is said to be best enjoyed in the springtime sunshine and takes travellers from Vaglia to Fiesole, according to local newspaper the Florentine.
On the journey walkers can rediscover the areas "silences, fragrances and exceptional panoramas".
The latter part of the journey "runs largely along the crests of hills with broad views over the surrounding valleys and extraordinary glimpses of Florence and, ultimately, Fiesole".
Spanning 22.9 kilometres, the trek is reportedly for the fit and able and those doing it during the summer months are urged to take plenty of sun cream and water but the vistas are worth it.
For those who enjoy walking, Bibbona in Livorno could be a fantastic place to stay as it is close to the coast but guests can also venture inland to explore the countryside or head out on a day trip to Florence.
