Known locally as the 'Festival dei Popoli', the international event is held at a number of venues across the city and is well-worth a visit from holidaymakers visiting Tuscany.
Held on the 16th to the 22nd of November, the documentary film exhibition explores people and their countries from all over the globe, with portraits of men and women and their stories.
The festival aims to encourage debate and confrontation as well as analysis and dialogue.
Holidaymakers that feel confident enough to interact with the film makers and experts can do so as many can be found on location.
A shuttle bus also operates through the city, taking holidaymakers between venues.
This year is the 48th edition of the event and is not to be missed by holidaymakers looking for a modern cultural lesson amid the vast array of historic treasures located in Florence.
