Tango in Tuscany
Taking place in Florence during April and May, the Florence Tango Festival welcomes international tango dancers from all over the world to perform to the crowds.
Tourists and locals head to the Saschall theatre for the evening events that include shows, art exhibitions, workshops and dinners.
Free tango classes are also available for anyone looking to take their interest to another level.
In 2008, Javier Rogdriguez and Andrea Misse are among the special guests scheduled to attend the event.
Tango is usually associated with Argentina and Latin America, but the dance is said to have originated from the mixture of Italian, French and Spanish communities living in Argentina.
Cultural elements have adapted the dance over many years and the shows include live music, often two violins, a piano and a double-bass.
Learning about tango isn't the only attraction to Florence, visiting the numerous galleries and museums will give holiday makers an insight into culture and fine arts in one of Europe's most beautiful cities.
