Every May, a festival is dedicated to the famous fruit, allowing visitors the chance to enjoy some traditional entertainment while indulging in some fresh strawberries.
The event usually takes place in mid May in Terricciola, Pisa, and holiday makers heading to the town centre can expect to try strawberries in many different ways as the festival promotes their different food uses.
This year, the event celebrates its 25th anniversary and will be held from May 5th through to May 13th.
Dances, shows, games and cooking competitions whip the town into a strawberry frenzy during the festival, which is a must-see for anyone holidaying in the Tuscany region.
Easily accessible from a cheap villa in Tuscany, Pisa is a great place to visit and is packed with culture and art as well as exciting traditional festivals such as this.
