Shop for antiques in Florence
Several antique and second hand goods markets are held in Florence, which is a world renowned shopping destination in its own right.
According to the city's official tourism portal, there are events taking place throughout the rest of the summer.
For example, every Tuesday this month an evening antique market will be open in Florence's historic centre.
Once a month the Piazza della Repubblica also comes to life with a trade fair offering arts and crafts as well as second hand goods.
Holiday makers eager to hunt down some bargains in Florence can rent Tuscany villas in nearby Vinci, which is the birthplace of the infamous artist Leonardo da Vinci.
In a recent article for the Telegraph, journalist Tim Jepson said Florence is great for vintage shopping, meaning tourists can pick up some quality gifts and souvenirs as well as some bargain antiques on the market stalls.
