San Gimignano is a 'Tuscan tourist magnet'
Writing in the Oxford Mail, the Tuscan tourist said that the tall towers of San Gimignano are "particularly impressive" from a distance and wandering through the charming streets it is hard not to imagine what it would have looked like with 72 of them.
Now only 14 remain, but they still "lend a romantic fairytale ambience to the place".
San Gimignano has been described as a medieval treasure chest and those on a villa holiday to Tuscany can find out for themselves what delights can be found within this trunk.
A villa in the hilltop village of Volterra could position holiday makers in the ideal place to discover the city of San Gimignano.
Meanwhile, anyone who has come to Tuscany to enjoy a tipple in the Chainti vineyards can do so, with the famous wine-growing area also not far from Volterra.
