The Ponte Vecchio, or old bridge, in the fabulous centre of Florence is famous for being a magnet for offerings of marriage.
All along the bridge are jewellers offering an array of fine jewellery and they have been known to inspire many a man to get down on one knee and ask for his loved one's hand.
Ponte Vecchio is one of six bridges in the city but is the oldest and most famous so could offer the ideal moment that will live long in the memory, as well as provide a good story to tell the grandchildren.
The beautiful Bibbona, in Livorna, may be a great place to base the Tuscany holiday as it is just a few minutes drive from the coastline but offers the opportunity for holiday makers to venture inland to explore the countryside.
Bibbona is also well situated to enjoy a day trip to Florence for that fateful question.
