Jazz and blues festival spices up Tuscany holidays

Anyone travelling to the region in June may find their trip the ideal opportunity to do so, as the Sarteano Jazz and Blues Festival kicks off in the province of Siena.

Running between the 19th and the 22nd of the month, Siena's piazzas will be infused with soulful sounds provided by musicians from around the world.

Siena is a popular with Tuscany holiday makers, offering the combination of natural beauty and historic culture that draws many to the Italian hotspot.

Its key Tuscany villa sites include Radicondoli, which is situated close to the region's capital, the historic city of Siena.

Performers at the festival include the No Logo quartet, made up of local professional jazz players.

Last year's event featured a visit from Jason Marsalis, a New Orleans quartet who performed a set together with a quartet from Italy.
