Impressionist exhibition for Tuscany holiday makers
The Palazzo Strozzi will introduce Tuscany holiday makers to impressionist masterpieces through the Impressionism: Painting The Light show, which runs between July 11 and September 28.
According to ANSA, the event examines the innovative approach pioneered by artists such as Claude Monet and Pierre Auguste Renoir, featuring some 60 key works, some of which are on loan from the Wallraf-Richartz Museum in Cologne.
Budding artists may be intrigued by the exhibition's practical approach, which sees original sketches and early versions of the works displayed, alongside step-by-step details on the pieces' construction.
Another focus of the show will be industry developments that enabled the artists to explore the great outdoors of Italy - something that Tuscany holiday makers will undoubtedly appreciate.
Items we may take for granted such as tubes of paint and artists' cases were crucial to these pioneers, the exhibition will reveal.
People looking to explore Florence on a day trip away from their Tuscany villa may wish to stay in Castiglion Fiorentino, in Arezzo, a vibrant village with easy access to the city.
