Get a taste of the traditional on a Tuscan holiday
While on a Tuscan holiday, why not adorn the family villa with some authentic pottery or other traditional artefact, showcased at the annual Artisans and the Palace fair in Florence.
Known locally as Artigianato e Palazzo, the three-day event presents the work and skills of traditional artisans from all over Europe.
A Tuscan holiday break taken this weekend could include marvelling at the skills and artworks - and creating some of your own to take home.
The artists hold open-air workshops to demonstrate their pottery-making, straw-hat making, glass-cutting prowess.
Another frequent presentation is of tapestry and furniture repairing and more.
What's On Where website said: "The great success of this exhibition is due to the fact that it is not just a fair or bazaar, but a continuous demonstration of the skills of each craftsman."
It takes place at the Palazzo Corsini from May 16th to 18th; opening hours are between 10am and 8.30pm.
According to the palace's website, the event will play host to more than 100 artisans and an expected 8,000 visitors across the three days.
