Gavinana, the place where 'even Jesus winks at you'
A winking Jesus can be found at the La Mecca design shop on via Poggio Bracciolini, according to the Florentine, but this delight is just the start of what the historic centre has to offer.
Natalie Dale, writing for the newspaper, stated that the coffee and pastries at Cafe Michelangelo in Piazza Ferrucci are the first treasure that visitors should sample on their visit to Gavinana.
Those with a sweet tooth are urged to head straight for Gelateria Caminia where the counters are "filled with sweet treats like creamy tarts piled high with glistening strawberries and raspberries".
There are numerous pizzerias and trattorias secretively hiding among back stets and nick-backs, while those that wish to sample some Italian shopping can head to Joliette to pick up some discounted Marc Jacobs shoes.
All this goes to show that a Tuscany villa holiday will allow visitors to get a real taste of Italy.
