Forbes: Tuscan region number one idyllic place in Europe

Holiday makers jetting off to Tuscany may like to take some time out to visit Gaiole, which is a small castle town, to see what all the fuss is about.

The area's reputation as a vineyard haven may also prompt wine-quaffers on a Tuscany villa holiday to sit up and take notice.

Further good news for those considering visiting or even relocating to Gaiole is that property in the idyllic region is cheaper than that in other places featured on the Forbes list, the Independent newspaper points out.

Travellers on a Tuscany villa holiday may also want to cruise through Gaiole to have bite to eat at the grand Badia a Coltibuono refectory, which used to be home to Benedictine monks.
