Flower show is colourful highlight of Tuscany holiday
One particular opportunity for this is the Greve flower show in Chianti, near Florence, where visitors on a Tuscany holiday can visit the show which is packed with flowers and plenty of food and drink.
Held on the first weekend of May, the festival is a popular event with locals and a chance for visitors to enjoy not just the flowers but also the town.
Local wines are a speciality of the Chianti region and Greve is no different with a large wine festival also held during September.
Holiday makers can visit the village of Montefioralle on a hill near the town or the Vignamaggio, which is situated on a hill and overlooks vineyards below and was said to be the home of the model in the Mona Lisa.
But if relaxation is the aim then holiday makers can chill out by the private villa pool and enjoy a break in their Tuscany villa.
