Florence a top culture kick on Tuscany holidays
Conducted by Atlas, the study named the top locations for culture vultures looking to combine sun with artistic enrichment on a trip abroad, reports TravelDailyNews.
Florence was ranked third with almost 40 per cent of people selecting it as one of their top five places to visit for culture.
Meanwhile, the proportion of respondents claiming to be on a cultural holiday rose to 31 per cent in 2007, up from 17 per cent a decade ago.
"This indicates that cultural tourism is growing in importance in the market mix of destinations worldwide," notes the report.
Visitors to Florence on Tuscany holidays may be able to avoid queues at the Accademia and Uffizi galleries by visiting online fast-track entry services to jump the line, the Times recently advised.
