Florence Fitness Festival for those on a Tuscany holiday

It has been claimed that the Fitness Festival held in Florence's Fortezza da Basso has spent two decades offering holiday makers and locals the chance to tone up before they top up their tan on the beach.

Whatsonwhen claims that there is "no other fitness event in the world that matches this in terms of size and scope" as Florence becomes home to the planet's biggest gym.

Fun and fitness combine in Florence and free tickets are reportedly available to those who can complete challenges.

The 21st edition of the festival takes place between May 20th and May 24th.

Many of Tuscany's idyllic villas are set off the beaten track and offer the perfect opportunity for those who like keeping fit and going on walking holidays to explore on foot the beautiful countryside that the region has to offer.
