Enjoy medieval traditions on a Tuscany holiday
Taking place from October 11th to October 12th in Balconevisi, the Palio del Papero Duck Festival is sure to keep the whole family entertained.
According to What's on When, tourists can join with locals to watch duck racing, with quacking competitors representing the boroughs of Il Borgo, Fondo di Scesa, Buecchio and Fornacino.
Once the champion duck has been crowned, visitors can settle back and sample some of the food served up by local stall holders, while watching locals take part in a historical parade, complete with battle re-enactments and dramatic performances.
Other events taking place in Tuscany this October include the Autumn Festival, which sees local cooks compete against each other to produce the finest chestnut and mushroom dishes, which visitors then have the opportunity to sample.
