Enjoy an 'explosion of fun' on an Easter Tuscany holiday
It is claimed that Scoppio del Carro - or the Explosion of the Cart - sees citizens and holiday makers gather in Piazza del Duomo for the ritual.
Everyone gathers to see a dove-shaped rocket fly out of the famous Piazza del Duomo and set alight a gigantic wooden cart-structure in the square outside, according to Whatsonwhen.
The reasoning behind such a bizarre ceremony dates back to Pagan times and there are similar events all over Italy during this time.
"This complex ritual goes smoothly, good luck is ensured for the city, not only with harvests but in the everyday life and business of its citizens," the site says.
However, the only ritual holiday makers may need to undertake to ensure good luck and a fun Easter is to book a luxury villa in the stunning and eventful region of Tuscany.
