Discover the 'gastronomic specialities' of Tuscany

Taking place later this month, the Great Wine Festival is an event that is sure to attract those eager to learn more about the specialities on offer in the region.

From September 26th to September 28th, Britons taking a villa holiday in Tuscany will have the opportunity to taste more than 400 different wines and sample some of the region's most popular culinary delights.

The festival, which takes place in the town of Impruneta, features "carefully selected products" such as olive oil, cheese and salami, all of which can be purchased by visitors, according to Tuscanweb.com.

A major wine-producing region, Tuscany is famous for classics such as Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino, as well as lesser-known wines including Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Morellino di Scansano and Rosso di Montepulciano.
