Celebrate New Year in a Tuscany villa? in March

The festivities begin on March 24th when medieval flag bearers fill the streets along with musicians.

As midnight approaches, holiday makers will find themselves under the Loggia di Banchi to watch the fireworks and toast to the New Year.

The following morning brings a parade that ends up in the Cathedral where a big mass is held to celebrate the New Year.

Pisa was part of its own calendar until the 1700s when it was unified with the calendar used by the rest of Tuscany.

Holiday makers enjoying a Tuscany holiday will not want to miss out on the event which is one of the area's best historical celebrations.
