Celebrate Italy's favourites in Florence

According to events website What's on When, the festival celebrates what Italians love the most and attracts wine estates and fashion designers from around the world to the Orsanmichele Museum in Florence to share their offerings.

International guests from Florida and California are said to be taking part in fashion show Route 66, just one of a series of events that make up the colourful festival.

Those on a villa holiday that want to sample the festival and local Pisan life may wish to stay in the spa town of Casciana Terme, which is also a great location for wine production and home to many vineyards.

Casciana Terme's piazza is the heart of local life who all offer a warm welcome to visitors.

Those that want to celebrate the Tuscan sense of humour could follow the advice of Serenella Leoni of the Tuscan Living Examiner.

Ms Leoni suggests learning a few local proverbs to make them smile, such as "in tre si decide bene quando uno e' malato e l'altro non viene" - three people make great decisions when the first one calls in sick and the second does not show up.
