Cavalli pays homage to Tuscany holidays
The icon told CNN that the cultural hub occupies a special place in his heart and has played a big part in his ascent to couture stardom.
"Florence has helped me to judge what is beautiful, what is less beautiful, gave me the feeling of art. Florence and art is something that is part of my life and is part of myself," Cavalli told the news provider.
The hectic pace of New York may be invigorating but a return to Florence is a much-needed antidote to the big apple, Cavalli explained.
Highlights for the designer include the metropolis's architecture, as well as landmarks like Michaelangelo's David and the Ponte Vecchio.
Work by Cavalli's artist father, Giuseppe Rossi, can be found in Florence's Uffizi gallery, which is one of the most popular attractions among people visiting the city on their Tuscany holiday.
