Beauty and the madness of art 'celebrated' in Tuscany

Titled Art and Folly, Psychoanalysis and Creativity, the exhibition focuses on the amazing association between artistic creation and madness and the Florentine claims it represents the first attempt to investigate the relationship between the two strange bedfellows.

"Van Gogh, Kirchner, Munch, Ernst, Dix, Grosz, Guttuso, Mafai and Ligabue are only some of the artists at the centre of the exhibition," the publication says.

The show is said to have borrowed paintings and sculptures from some of Europe's most famous museums for its examination and will run until May 25th.

Taking place at the Complesso Museale Santa Maria della Scala in Siena, the exhibition could also be the ideal opportunity to explore the city of Siena from a villa in the ravishing little town of Radicofani, which offers amazing views from its hilltop location.
