Avoid the queues on a Tuscany holiday

Tuscany holiday makers stand a greater chance of avoiding the queues associated with cultural behemoths such as the Uffizi and the Accademia galleries by using web-based line-jumping facilities, a new report observes.

In its list of frequently asked travel questions, the Times tackles that age-old conundrum of whether it is possible to avoid waiting in the baking heat to catch a glimpse of works by Botticelli, Da Vinci and Michaelangelo.

By logging onto weekendafirenze.com, visitors can fast track their entry to popular Florence hotspots, the newspaper suggests.

It explains: "You present your booking number at the small pre-booked queue and pay the standard entry fee."

At the Uffizi, culture-vulture visitors can gaze on such famous works as The Birth of Venus by Botticelli, while the Accademia is currently home to esteemed works including Titian's Pieta.
