Art for kids on a Tuscany villa holiday
The city's children's art museum Bambimus promises to foster a sense of cultural appreciation in the young that will no doubt see them return to the wonder of Siena's famous churches as adults.
Workshops, interactive displays and other child-friendly features make Bambimus the perfect antidote to more adult activities on Tuscany villa holidays.
And programmes devoted to the art of Siena introduce young culture buffs to the affresco technique or the inner workings of a Sienese building site.
"So if your kids are fed up of following you through the city's convents and churches, visit the museum's website to see what's on," recommends events guide What's On When.
Related Siena attractions include the Art Gallery of Siena, which features works by Duccio di Buoninsegna and Domenico Beccafumi.
Siena's heart is the Piazza del Campo, which is the hub of city activity and shaped like a shell.
