Arezzo 'a fine town' for a Tuscany villa holiday

Arezzo has a distinct medieval atmosphere, according to Italy Heaven, and would be great for culture vultures in particular, as it houses a number of museums and examples of historic art.

The set of frescoes by Piero della Francesca are cited as especially interesting artistic treasures. Housed in the church of San Francesco, they can be viewed by tourists for a small admission charge.

Other worthwhile sights include the Museo di Casa Vasari and the ruined Roman amphitheatre.

Those considering booking a Tuscany villa holiday may also be interested to know that although Arezzo is situated within the beautiful Italian countryside, it is also only a short drive away from some of Italy's most well-known cities.

Indeed, Florence and Siena are both located less than a day's drive away for those interested in participating in some retail therapy.
