Are opera fans booking Tuscany villa holidays ahead of festival?
A jam-packed timetable of performances between June 13th and August 3rd catapults the festival to the top of any summer tourist's must-do list.
Concerts are held at Boboli Gardens and Villa Medici of Cafaggiolo in Florence, while Siena is also home to events at San Galgano Abbey.
Among the highlights of the 2008 programme are La Boheme, the Puccini opera set in 19th century Paris.
Opera fans on Tuscany holidays should also book their tickets for La Traviata and Carmina Burana, both of which promise to be infused with new life by the inspiring city's atmosphere.
The event is run by the Multipromo Cultural Association, which was founded in 1997 and has been funded by the country's ministry of culture since 1998, directing the festival since 2004.
