A Tuscany villa is "la dolce vita"
A new report in the Sun Times examines the experience of the Murphy Family in the Tuscan province of Lucca.
The Chicago family enjoyed a week in their Tuscany villa - playing games, sunbathing and swimming in the pool in perfect seclusion, surrounded by fruit and olive trees.
"We did a lot except for the very last day. We never left the villa," Mary Beth Murphy told the publication.
"We played bocce ball, sat by the pool and drank wine. We pretended that was where we lived."
Lucca is renowned as one of the quieter tourism spots in Italy, giving visitors the opportunity to amble through peaceful old streets, explore traditional churches and sample fine coffee and cake in local pastry shops.
Visitors may also wish to use Lucca as a base for exploring destinations such as Florence and Pisa, Italy Heaven has recommended.
